| The
Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SASBAH)
are £600 better off this week after Alison Godwin
Managing Director of local payroll bureau Pro-Pay presented
them with money generated from setting up a payroll giving
scheme.
Payroll Giving is a Government supported
initiative where organisations receive a cash incentive
of up to £500 for setting up a scheme. It also means
employers enable employees to give to charity straight
from their gross salary and get immediate tax relief of
up to 40% of each donation.
Alison said:
Before introducing Payroll Giving to our clients
we thought we should go through the process of setting
it up to see for ourselves how it was done. It was easy
and in only a few months through Pro Pay (£300)
and Ashdown Hurrey (£300) we have been able help
a really great cause like SASBAH.
By donating money straight from their salary, employees
can make a regular commitment to their favourite good
cause. Charities benefit from a regular, reliable funding
and it gives businesses the chance to connect with their
local community.
Clive Rimell is the Fundraising and Marketing Manager
for SASBAH:
Everyone at SASBAH is very grateful for the support
from Pro-Pay and Ashdown Hurrey. Payroll Giving is something
every organisation can get involved in, whatever their
size. I hope this innovative new scheme will encourage
more small and medium sized businesses to get on board.
